Autumn Make Up Update

Summer was all about dewy skin, barely-there make up and the ultimate nude lipstick. With September comes the beginning of the season which brings us shorter days and chilly nights, which obviously calls for a make up shake up!

At Beauty Base we love being able to bring you the latest products from our favourite brands. Our brand new Matte Pigment Gloss by LA Girl was just made for autumn! This newly developed formula is long wearing and creates a high pigment, velvety matte finish. There are some fabulous LA Girl shades available in dark crimsons, deep purples, light pinks and fresh nudes to suit all skin tones. Go for a dark berry lip paired with minimal eye make up for a fresh faced casual day look. If you find matte a bit too drying, dap on some lip balm to moisturise without the gloss. Gloss is out and muted tones are in.

For back to school or office parties, go for dark eye shadow with a classic cat eye flick and a nude matte lip. Smokey eyes never go out of fashion and they’re even more appropriate during the darker months. Use the Fashionista Eyeshadow Palette for the perfect browns and greys. For daytime, simply line your eyes with a black or grey liner and smudge with a finger or brush to create a less done-up version of a heavier night time smokey eye. Don’t forget lashings of eye defining mascara, such as our LA Colors mascara.

Don’t forget the all important technique to outline your features – contour, contour, contour! Use a bronzer or darker powder under the cheekbones, around the hairline and under the chin. To bring out the features, use a highlighter or illuminator along the apples of the cheeks, down the nose and on the cupids bow to exaggerate that pout.

For a flawless base, this season’s skin matches the lips with a matte finish. Get yourself a primer, a medium to high coverage foundation, conceal those blemishes and any under eye bags, and mattify with LA Girl Pro Setting Powder. Use a brow gel to smarten up your eyebrows without going too dark.

So, update your make up bag with a few simple colour swaps and new products to make sure you’re stepping into autumn 2015 looking your best.
