Giorgio Armani is an Italian fashion designer who is particularly noted for his menswear collections. He formed his company, Armani, in 1975, and by 2001 was acclaimed as one of the most successful designers to come out of Italy. In the early 1980s, the company signed with L'Oreal to create a range of perfumes. The 1990s saw the release of Armani's first collection of floral fragrances in the form of Gi' and Acqua Di Gi'. He then followed this up with Acqua Di Gi' Pour Homme, a marine fragrance inspired by the isle of Pantelleria where Giorgio spent many of his vacations. In 1998 the first duo fragrance was launched in the form of She and He. These were the first Armani perfumes to be released under the more youthfully inspired Emporio Armani label and were the beginning of a new duo fragrance trend for the brand. The fashion label has since generated many different scents for men and women.
